Well, it’s July of another year and once again Graeme and I were able to travel to a mystical place (location) to enjoy the dancing, the sword fighting, the jousting and the many other things that were happening this weekend (July 6-8, 2012) at the Kingdom of Osgoode.
The King was there and was kind enough to inform me that some of his normal entourage were unfortunately detained and not yet present. Some mention was made of a dungeon but I cannot divulge more. Continue reading →
Nightly Stage Show – Barcelo Marina Palace – Varadera, Cuba
Each night, the resort’s auditorium was filled to capacity for the nightly stage show. We had gone to a few of them and this particular evening I was outside the building taking some night shots when I decided to head over to the stage area to see if I might be able to catch the last of the evening’s performance. Ottawa, Ontario – January 1, 2012 – The Great Canadian Chill – Stopping Kids Cancer Cold
Well folks, Graeme and I, were able to get to Britannia Beach again this year to watch and photograph many, many, many brave souls jumping into the icy waters of the Ottawa River.
As we did last year, we will be uploading a selection of photos from the event for our blog followers to enjoy. Since it is New Year’s Day, we have family commitments too so our uploads might take a day or two. Had a fun time and kept my feet definitely warmer than last year!
Hand Fasting Wedding at the Mediæval Fair in Osgoode
For the third year in a row, Graeme and I have had fun photographing the activities of the Mediæval Fair at Osgoode, Ontario. (Location) This year was a special year for a young couple since it was their wedding day and therefore my photos of today’s activities (July 9th, 2011) show more wedding than jousting and more kissing than dancing. You can view one of the videos that Graeme took of the events by clicking on the above image. (Please note that these photos are copyright so we would appreciate that they be treated accordingly and not be distributed without our permission, etc.) Links to photos of the previous years’ Osgoode activities can be found here.
As I knew at least one of my photography friends were running in today’s 10KM race I decided to stake out Queen & Lyon and see if I could catch a few pictures of them.
I had No idea how many people would be in this race, a lot more than I had initially expected. Fortunately I knew about the bunnies (people wearing bunny hats who run at a fixed pace so runners can judge theirs). Some apparently went all out on their costumes and signs.
Finally I was able to get a picture of Rebeckah Running by with her running partner Amanda.
Stonehaven Manor/Apartment got the official ribbon cutting accomplished for their new multistorey apartment addition but not before a barbershop quartet had wooed all the young ladies with their mellow voices. Continue reading →
