Canadian Tulip Festival – Day 2

Plenty of variety in every colour of the rainbow will be in bloom over the next 8-10 days or so.

And plenty of food stalls for those who like to look at tulips and eat at the same time :-).

Not sure what all the fuss is about Ottawa tulips? Just need to stop one of the question mark folks and they will be happy to relate how the tulip displays began as a gift of the government of the Netherlands in appreciation for the efforts of Canadian soldiers at the end of the Second World War and continue to this day as a display of continued friendship.

Once you have finished looking at the tulips, consider a walk along the boardwalk over to the other side of Dow’s Lake where the magnolias are putting on quite a display.
