January 18, 2006 – Bad weather causes problems underfoot
Mid-winter in Ottawa can have its share of surprises and when a band of sleet and freezing rain moved through in January 2006 it gave drivers their morning thrill and neither man nor beast was comfortable with the outcome. I just had to defy gravity, keep my feet under me and try to get a few images of this not so unique day when everything resembled a skating rink.
Visibility in the misty sleet was rather diminished and even this immature hawk was looking rather under the weather.
