A Bit of Summer Colour – Maplelawn Garden

A Bit of Summer Colour – Maplelawn Garden (Location)

I needed a couple of screws added to the focus ring of my manual focus Nikon 55mm macro lens so, to try it out after the repair work was done at Canadian Camera, I stopped at Maplelawn Garden on Richmond Road in Ottawa on my way home.  Despite the dry weather that we have been experiencing, the volunteers have managed to keep the gardens in excellent conditions.

It was nice to have this old warhorse of a lens working properly again.

Tech: The lens is an old manual focus lens, the Nikon Micro-Nikkor, Nippon Kogaku Micro-Nikkor 55mm f3.5 lens which has macro functionality. Its small size allows me to stuff it in one of the side pockets of my camera bag or into a pocket of my pants or jacket.  Can’t do that with my more modern auto-focus macro lenses.
