Wawa, Ontario – Ontario Visitor Points of Interest – The Wawa Goose

Although the above two geese are the most famous Wawa goose sculptures, there is a third goose which sits atop the roof of the Wawa Motor Inn.  The motor inn goose is the smallest of the three geese and was set atop the roof of the Wawa Motor Inn when the inn was being built in 1961.

The original highway  monument goose was restored in 2000 by Mickey Clement of Wawa and once again is on display a short distance closer to town where it shares visitors with a vintage fire truck of Young’s Fire Department.

Although the Tourist Centre is an interesting spot to visit, it certainly wouldn’t be visited as often if the Wawa Geese had not done their job so well over the past 50 or so years.
