Staten Island Ferry

Staten Island Ferry

After our walk through New York’s Central Park, we once again took the red subway line from Times Square and then the Staten Island Ferry back to our accommodation on Staten Island. The Statue of Liberty hadn’t moved since we passed it on the morning ride into Manhattan. :-).

A few large ships passed by to make the trip interesting.  It was now my third passage and already I was sitting back in the seats rather than getting all excited about every passing ship.  One of the Staten Island residents had been going back and forth each working day for thirty years and wondered how he had survived so long. He was retired now and rarely made the voyage. We chuckled. I too was retired and don’t miss the morning commute.
