About 11:45 a.m.
Still about 15 minutes to go until the start of the auction and already the seats were full! The S.A.M. contingent had staked out their spot at the back of the room and some long-time OVAS auction goers had made sure that they had found their favorite seats. Late comers brought their own seats with wheels 🙂 or got to stand.
By the time that the auction started, my job of selling raffle tickets was almost over. Had a great selection of raffle prizes again this year which made my job pretty easy actually.
A certain T-shirt wasn’t on the auction block but almost everything else imaginable was. With everything ready to go, treasure chests of money were opened, tools of the trade were sharpened and the cut-throat bidding began!
Slowly, but surely, the number of tables diminished (approximately one table full ever 15 minutes) and eventually, 6 hours later, the auction was over. The auctioneers were tired, the cashiers were tired and I was tired :-). Time to start planning for the next one!!!!
Thank you so much Ron for the wonderful photos of the Giant Auction!!!
Those cupcakes were delish and helped raise a few $$ for the club!!!
Thanks. My taste buds enjoyed the cupcakes too!
