In another area of the Museum, there was an extensive display of coral skeletons, interesting from a scientific point of view, but also a grim reminder of the many corals that have been gathered and bleached and sold to tourists over the years.
The Museum also had another interesting display in which the exhibits were housed in globes hanging from the ceiling. Combined with creative lighting in a darkened space, this display method provided a way for the visitor to look at the exhibit from all angles. Quite an interesting way to display how birds and mammals might appear while swimming underwater.
Leaving the best to last :-), we finally arrived at the interactive display in which my photo had been used. Seen here in the upper right corner, my photo was one of many that were used to show various groupings of images of the natural world.
Before long, we found ourselves back at the entrance to the Museum, and said our goodbyes to Silvia Toffano, who had been my contact for the photo request and had accompanied us on our tour of the Natural History Museum of Venice – Museo di Storia Naturale di Venezia.
Back out into the sunshine, we continued our tour of Venice and I looked around for more interesting things to photograph.
