Because the lower sections of the trail are well shaded, there are not a lot of flowers along the trail, but taking the time to look around can reap some rewards and a bit of colour.
Closer to the summit the rocks are fully exposed and the path to the top is marked with paint slashes. The mountain peak is not above the tree line but is a bare topped mountain due to a 1903 fire which cleared the trees and winds which cleared off the soil.
A sporting injury (achilles tendon) makes it tough for me to navigate some of the steeper bits with camera in hand, so, from time to time I have to hand off my camera to another climber so that I have both hands free. That’s when I get captured!!! I don’t usually end up in many photos but on this occasion I needed two hands to climb a bit of the rock face so handed my camera to my wife who handed my camera to Michelle who caught me 🙂
PS My hat always looks like that unless I sit on it LOL
