Tulip Festival, Dow’s Lake, Ottawa

After photographing the Trilliums along the Jock River, I headed over to the Experimental Farm and to Dow’s Lake to photograph the remaining flowers of the Magnolia trees at the Experimental Farm and a few of the tulips at Dow’s Lake.

There are many varieties of Magnolia growing at the Ottawa Experimental Farm and each of them has a slightly different flowering period so it can be a bit hit-or-miss trying to photograph the magnolias at their prime.

Of course, one nice thing about visiting the gardens at the Experimental Farm in the Spring, is that if one thing isn’t in full bloom, something else likely will be.
