The Eastern Kingbird family, Nepean, Ontario

The Kingbird family, Nepean, Ontario

I was out for a drive along Carling Avenue when I looked over and saw a Kingbird sitting on a stump near the reads and decided to stop and try and get a photo.

As I approached the marshy area, I soon realized that I was entering into a noisy family event. Two adult Kingbirds were trying to satisfy the appetites of a half dozen juvenile Kingbirds, not an easy task.

Once one was fed, there were more young waiting their turn, and none too patiently. All were squawking at the same time. Quite the noisy group and after taking a few shots I left the parents to catch the flying insects among the cattails.
