Grand Central Station – New York City, NY
We had boarded the Metro-North train in Poughkeepsie, NY earlier in the morning and were now arriving at Grand Central Station. We deboarded on a platform somewhere under the streets of New York City. At times like this, it is best to just follow the crowd and hope that the people at the front are going in the right direction. :-).
It wasn’t too long before we found our way to the main foyer of Grand Central Station. It was Monday morning and we had timed our arrival to coincide with a hoped for lull after the rush of the morning commuter hoards. We were glad that we had as I was able to take some photos without worrying about blocking fast-moving pedestrian traffic. Apple Computer’s retail store is located on the mezzanine floor of Grand Central so I had to take a quick peak while photographing the main rotunda. Quite a unique location for a retail outlet!

We were trying to decide which exit to use to get out of the station when a group of young ladies appeared for some publicity shots. Of course, that delayed my departure a bit! The display of Porsche automobiles in one of the alcoves might also have had something to do with my tardiness :-).
No one offered to lend me a Porsche for a spin around the streets of New York City so after looking, and not touching, we headed out into the streets of New York City – on foot.
