Another day trip into Varadero

It was a school day for the children of Varadero and, when we passed by the school, the children were in class and the teeter-totters sat idle.  I was tempted to try one out but refrained!

As we walked along the street, I found some things, other than cars, to photograph including flowers, roosters, cacti, and various reptiles that scurried away as  I approached. Although many of the buildings back from the main street looked rather tattered, to say the least, many of the older buildings on the main street had been torn down and replaced, had been renovated or were in the process of being renovated.  There were exceptions though :-).

I managed to get through this trip to Varadero without any problems with dogs or cactus plants and enjoyed hopping on the bus back to our Cayo Libertad resort. I stayed up top and got thoroughly buffeted by the wind while Adell opted for the enclosed lower level – probably the more sensible choice for sure.

By the time that we arrived back at the beach, the winds had dropped down a bit, but the red flag was still up and debris scattered along the beach was evidence of the rough conditions earlier in the day when the tide had been higher and the wave had been crashing well up on the shoreline. Weather was great for walking along the beach though, so we joined in and did the same.
