Today is the first day of the first work week of a New Year. For some, it is back to the normal work schedule. For those in government offices and financial institutions,it is a holiday in lieu of New Year’s Day falling on a weekend. For most students, it is still part of their Christmas break. For retired folks, don’t ask – it’s a normal day – they’re just BUSY :-).
In my particular case, I’m at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario with my 93 y.o. father who came to the ER this AM. I’m definitely not alone. Hospital and nursing staff will likely be pretty busy today based on the number of patients in this hospital’s ER waiting room. Paramedics will be kept busy with more than just paper work based on the number of elderly and injured arriving by ambulance. My father has Brie as his nurse today and it looks like he will be in good hands and get the attention that he needs today.
On a much lighter note, the first e-mail that I looked at this morning was a promotional item from Best Western International. Their suggestion for a New Year’s Resolution was: Travel More Often. I think that I will try that! :-).
Finished the day off by uploading some more images to our New Year’s Day post of folks jumping, running, diving into ice-cold water.
Hi Ron,
Happy New Year….Just words sometimes…
Hope that your father is ok .
