Toronto Christmas Lights 2011 – Little Italy and elsewhere

Earlier in the evening, a little light had come on in the car telling me that at some point finding a gas station should become a higher priority than photographing interesting light displays. Of course, as the night wore on, it seemed that all of the gas stations in town had disappeared from the face of the earth, or closed for the night. I knew that there was a station near my hotel so eventually the camera was put away and my focus shifted to getting gas.

I was staying at the Westin Harbour Castle close to the CN Tower so thought that these shots of the tower would be my last couple of shots for the day. Such would not be the case, but, at this point in time, I thought that my car, with its tank now full of gas, would simply be handed over to valet parking and some shots out the window from the 33rd floor would be enough for me to call it a day.

When I arrived back at the hotel and started to unload my car, I was asked if I was in town to photograph the UFC event. The hotel lobby was still alive and active with UFC participants and fans discussing the the big event (the UFC fight). Somehow, I knew that they wouldn’t quite understand that I was out photographing Christmas lights, but that is what I told them anyway. Well, surprisingly, one thing led to another and very soon, I was getting directions back to some displays that I had missed, and the car wasn’t being parked for the night, not quite yet anyway.
