Masonry repairs

Masonry repairs

Over a period of 40 years, the moisture and freeze/thaw cycles of winter weather had taken a toll on the brickwork and foundation at one corner of the garage, so I called on Andrew at Carpathian Masonry to drop by and see what repairs he could do in the available timeframe. He had done some repairs on our chimney a few years earlier but our current dilemma was a bit closer to the ground :-).

There was no particular urgency, but we got a nice bit of warm weather in November which gave Andrew enough time to excavate around the foundation, pour new concrete and replace some damaged bricks. Although we got a bit of frost at night, timing worked out really well and weather was not an issue so that is one more job off of the “to do” list before winter snows arrive.
