Ottawa Fat Cats vs. Brantford Red Socks
Currently Ottawa’s only Professional Baseball team, the Fat Cats were taking on the Brantford Red Socks for this year’s championship. It’s the forth game in the Payoff series I was fortunate to get an invite to the game by Richard Whittaker.
We arrived early enough to watch the grounds crew preparing the field along with players arriving to warm up.
The Ceremonial first pitch was thrown by Brian “Killer” Kilrea
We got front row seats at the home team dugout which gave us excellent position to take pictures of the action at the plate and out in the field.
Of course the game wasn’t all the entertainment as they had various games and give aways and of course Grape – the Fat Cat’s Mascot.
The weather held off and the game was played without a hitch, and the 99 cent hotdogs made today a real “take me out to the ballgame” day. Unfortunately the Fat Cat’s lost the game and need to win in Brantford to stay alive and win the title – series is now 3-1 Brantford.
