Butterflies, damselflies and hoverflies

A few other species of small butterflies were in the area but were not as accommodating so I turned my attention ot some of the other small creatures of the world.

I enjoy photographing hover flies but today I decided to try to photograph one in flight and was pleasntly surprised by the outcome of my second effort.

It was good day, lots of insects to keep me busy, plenty of plants such as the common milkweed yet to flower and a blue sky above.
