And then, there is the James Bond unit, “Keep Back 150m, OR ELSE!”
Over by the oval pen, Brittany and her horse were resting up for a bit. I wasn’t going to be able to stay for their performance but when we started talking about roping and lassos, she readily provided me with a demonstration of how easy it is to twirl a lasso. She made it look so easy that she convinced me to give her lariat a twirl. All I was able to lasso was myself. 🙂 It’s a bit harder than she made it look.
Since it was Heritage Days, I decided that I should be looking for some older things and found something that looked like a birdcage.
Over in the parking lot, there was a 1928 Ford Touring Sedan and behind the wheel was gentleman of the same age as the car. Turns out that he was also Brittany’s grandfather.
The oldest thing to interact with at the Beckwith Heritage Days was a real, live ghost from the 1800’s.
