Green Lakes State Park, New York State

A few varieties of fungus added to the interest along the trails but in general it would be a week or two before Spring growth came along to replace the general browns of the woods and fallen leaves.

After walking to the campground along one of the trails, I took another trail and found my way back up onto the plateau again. The rain had stopped so, this time, being out in the open was a much more pleasant experience. Various signs of the plateau’s farmland history were easy to find.

There were still deer to be seen up on the plateau but not within camera range, so I headed back down to my car to head off to my next scenic spot, Chittenango Falls.
