Skating on the Rideau Canal 2011

Under the bridge, there is some artwork to look at for those who need a bit of a break.

On the weekends, a demonstration of some aboriginal traditions is presented. In this particular instance, the individual was demonstrating the use of a draw knife on a block of wood. The tee pees, stretched beaver skins, and other objects added to the discussion of the aboriginal’s traditional way of life.

There were plenty of other people out on the ice today as the weather kept changing from cloudy to sunny to snowing but was mild enough that no one complained.
