55th & 27th Light Infantry companies
As far as I can determine, the individual who included a P&S in his kit bag was actor Mark Valley of ABC TV’s “Human Target”. I don’t think that a P&S was standard issue back in the 1700’s but every time that he was facing my direction without someone obscuring my shot, he had his P&S out of his pocket and shooting with it rather than with his gun so I ended up with this :-). I would have preferred a shot of him with a gun to his shoulder and a nice flame coming out of the barrel or a nice big puff of that black powder smoke.
By the end of the first day of battle, the French troops and their followers had successfully repelled the British troops. However, the next day, the fight resumed and in the end, the British were successful in this skirmish. The photos in this blog are all from the first day of the re-enactment.

This re-enactment was part of the annual Founder’s Day weekend activities at Ogdensburg, NY. Although the re-enactment battle is the key moment in the week end of activities, for many of the participants, it is an occasion to meet with friends, sleep in tents and enjoy meals cooked over the open fire.
