Moving along at a snail’s pace. Although we were staying a pace or two ahead of the Australians on this wet day I was beginning to feel that I was going slower and slower as the end of our Day 7 was approaching. Needed to lay down in the middle of the road for this shot and hoped that no one was coming around the corner.
The Offa’s Dyke Path goes through The Cwm. Trouble is, Cwm in Welsh means something like “head of the valley” and in this instance “The Cwm” was a few buildings around what might described as the smallest roundabout in all of the British Isles. We got to The Cwm but weren’t really sure that we were there. We did find our B&B for the night without too much delay after asking for directions.
When we got to our B&B at The Cwm, Toby, the chocolate lab soon became my pal especially when he thought I was spending way too much time playing on the floor with certain terrier pups.
The Cwm – Shirley Heights B&B: A bit newer than other B&B’s that we stayed at along the Path. Once you know that you have arrived at The Cwm (a smallish blip on the Path), finding the B&B is pretty easy. Toby, a chocolate lab and a terrier or two will announce your arrival but they didn’t cause any problems. It wasn’t long before I was on the floor playing with the terrier pups and had a wonderful time. (P. S. I get along with most dogs). Pup photos follow. Accommodations were modern, the hosts were friendly and meals were wonderful.
