Andrew Haydon Park and the Brant, Nepean, Ontario

Today’s special treat was a Brant (Branta bernicla) that was eating the grass in Andrew Haydon Park along with a flock of Canada Geese. The Brant is a small goose that is not normally seen inland and this was the first time that I had seen one so, for that reason alone, it was a pretty special day for me.

Although the Brant captured the attention of the birders, it was the young Canada Goose goslings that captured the hearts of the children at the park.

Thanks for talking with us at Andrew Hayden. Eileen and I enjoyed our day with the Bird Whisperer! Great shots…….. and was able to retain some of the wealth of info you conveyed. I also managed to capture some video of the Brant.
    Thanks again,
