Lyonsdale Hydroelectric Facility on the Moose River

The hydroelectric plant sits to one side of the falls and is licensed to produce 3000KW of power from the 34 foot drop of the falls.

After taking the above photo I headed down to the lower lever for a closer look from that direction. For the following shots I switched to my Nikon 17-55 lens and also decided to have a bit of fun with my 16mm fish-eye lens. The 16mm fish-eye loses its fish-eye effect on the cropped sensor of my D300 but gives and interesting wide-angle option.

Like the river’s waters, I couldn’t help myself. I had to follow the water, so I jumped back into my car and drove on to my next destination, Ager’s Falls.
