Chapleau, Ontario

Chapleau is one of the larger communities in the area of Northern Ontario where we conduct our Breeding Bird Surveys. ‘Larger’ in this instance is a relative term but since Chapleau is large enough to offer a gas station, more than one place to sleep, more than a couple of places to eat and a grocery store, it is one place that we need to stop before heading back onto the logging roads to prepare for more bird counts. On this occasion we were there for gas, for lunch and to buy some bottled water.
