Kanata Badminton Club – Y/E Banquet and AGM

Once all of the awards had been given out for the players who had done well in the tournaments, it was time to say thank you to the many volunteers who had taken on special responsibilities in both executive and non-executive roles.

The Kanata Badminton Club rents space in two different schools in Kanata so that its members can play as many as five nights a week during the school year. Alfred got to be thanked first for the great job that he did organizing the food and locations for social activities. An arm injury might have slowed him down on the courts but he still does a great job with the socials.

After Alfred, others received their awards for things like keeping equipment in decent shape, keeping the web page up and functioning, offering quick response when first aid was needed or just jumping in and helping out when asked for assistance. All were worthy recipients this year and I’m certain that next year will see an equally dedicated group of volunteers helping to keep the club operating successfully.
