Butterfly World – Fort Lauderdale

After leaving Everglades National Park and the baby Anhingas and young Crocodiles , we headed over to Ft. Lauderdale where I wanted to visit the Butterfly World facilities. While I photographed the butterflies inside, John cycled around the neighborhood for a while.

I visited Butterfly World a number of years earlier with my children and was somewhat surprised to find that the pond no longer teemed with fish and that the cold weather of previous years had reduced the previously free-roaming lizard population.

In addition to the butterflies, they also have an apiary and various other attractions but the primary interest is still butterflies.
