African Safari – October 26th – Morning Game Drive – Lake Nakuru National Park

The plan for the day was for us to follow the same route as we had followed the previous evening over to the Flamingo viewing area, then follow the shoreline around to Baboon Cliff and then continue the shoreline route around to the exit point. I guess it was fitting that the first thing to greet us on our route was a family of baboons and a male baboon showing off all of his his masculinity. Keeping this blog a bit family-friendly, the male baboon’s full frontal portrait has been omitted :-).

Yellow Fever Acacia

Hamerkop (Scopus umbretta)

As we drove to the Flamingo viewing point, we passed a few interesting sightings but mostly a bit too far away for the camera to capture. There were, however, a few Tawny Eagles and Shrikes along the way. I enjoyed watching the Red-billed Oxpeckers hard at work extracting bugs from the eyes and ears of various animal species.
