Lac Leamy Casino Fireworks Competition – Aug 2006

Each year an international fireworks competition is sponsored by the Casino De Hull at Lac Leamy in Gatineau, Quebec. The competing teams from different countries choreograph their displays to music and the resultant sound and light shows are usually fantastic. This blog entry provides a glimpse at the many different colours and formations that light up the night sky each night during the August competitions. On this particular night, I was happy with the fireworks display and the overall quality for the show but was somewhat disappointed that my position relative to the light wind direction left me with more smoke int he shots than I normally like. Interested in photographing fireworks ? Take a look at our fireworks tutorial. Doesn’t guarantee success but should give you some thoughts to consider and ideas to try.
